The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) course is the gold standard for healthcare professionals. This instructor-led, hands-on session prepares you to recognize life-threatening emergencies and provide high-quality intervention in both clinical and pre-hospital settings.

Who Should Take This Course?
If you work in a clinical environment—such as a hospital, dental office, or nursing home—this is the required course. It is the professional-level certification for:
Nurses (RN/LVN), Doctors, and Medical/Nursing Students.
EMTs, Firefighters, and Dental Professionals.
Note: Teachers, coaches, and daycare workers usually require the Heartsaver course. Please verify with your employer before booking.

The American Heart Association requires every student to have access to the current BLS Provider Manual before, during, and after the course.
University/Institutional Students: Students from Baylor S&W, UMHB, Temple College, etc., who utilize a "Manual Lending Library" can use those manuals.
Borrowing: We provide manuals for use during class if you forget yours.
Buying: You can purchase a copy at our facility for $20 (a 5% processing fee applies to card payments). You can also purchase a physical or digital copy directly from the AHA ShopCPR website.

The full classroom course typically takes about 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on class size and testing time. We provide efficient training to respect your schedule.
Need a shorter option? If your current AHA card is not yet expired, you may qualify for a BLS Renewal course. Please contact us via email or phone to schedule this.
Blended Learning: You can also complete the online portion through the AHA website and visit us for a Skills Session, which takes about 30 minutes in person. Learn more here.
